Behind every designer and stylist, there is a seamstress, an agile and forgiving hand who interprets his dreams into fabric. Rabih Kayrouz pays them a vibrant homage through his fall-winter haute couture presentation. His Boulevard Raspail atelier is transformed into a magical forest where journalists, muse, friends and spectators were invited to sample cherries and the magic of couture.
This intimate setting, allowing visitors to amble among the immaculate trunks between which dance his collection, gave a rare opportunity to view the minute details that set apart couture and ready-to-wear, details that can be lost in the heady rush of a catwalk show. A blazer sewn together by emerald crystals shines with inner light and signs the most Parisian of Lebanese designer’s motto: embellish without unnecessary ornamentation.
