Campaign trail: Jil Sanders’s Spring/Summer 13

Mmm, after a sparkling, gilted, rich Christmas season, the spring/summer 2013 print ads of Jil Sander feel like a palate cleanser of minimal lines and pseudo-futurism. In its original show setting, Sander’s « first » collection back at the helm had felt overly austere, but the campaign gives it an extra sparkle that wows. Something tells me this is only the beginning of a fierce fight for the top seat as « Ruler of Minimalia » as Sander will find many a designer angling for the position, first among them Raf Simons, freshly departed to more Diorific climes.
